They are popular for sailing and boating.  And the fishing! The lakes and the Williamson, Wood and Sprague Rivers are known for giant, native Redband Trout that can be up to 20 pounds! Across the lake to the west are stunning Mt. McLoughlin and Pelican Butte. And, of course, gorgeous Crater Lake National Park is only 20 miles to the north.

Klamath Falls, 27 miles to the south, has a beautiful old downtown district and is home to the Oregon Institute of Technology and Klamath Community College. This region still has a large population of ranching and farming families who form the strong basis for the community.
